Anti-Bias

We use Families All Matter Preschool Curriculum to create a caring community in our center. Using picture books and persona dolls along with discussion, questions and activities, preschoolers and adults gain comfort in talking about differences and interacting with different perspectives. The stories build empathy and stimulate children's critical thinking about bias and fairness. Children learn to stand up against bias-based teasing, bullying or exclusion when they see or experience it in their own lives.

The curriculum covers themes of race/ethnicity, socioeconomics, aging, gay and lesbian family members, divorce/break-ups/blending, adoption, religious differences, and disabilities.
