Erin Bergevin
Polar Bear Teacher, Erin Bergevin, has a B.A. from Vassar College in Developmental Psychology and German Studies. After seven years of working with children of all ages, she was thrilled to join the SCCC staff in the summer of 2011. She loves seeing the way children develop interpersonal skills, self-awareness, and respect for the environment at SCCC. She also enjoys playing music, making art, and going for walks with the Polar Bears.
Mike Huber
Penguin teacher, Mike Huber, has a M.A. in Education from Hamline University. He has been an Early Childhood teacher since 1992, and has been at Seward since 1999. Mike has worked as a trainer and consultant for the Minnesota Department of Education, the Child Care Resource and Referral Network and The Minnesota Association for the Education of Young Children working with educators throughout the state. He has written for Teaching Young Children magazine. His favorite thing about SCCC is the way children learn to be engaged citizens by being active members of this democratic school.
Sasha Bloomquist
Teacher/Coordinator, Sasha Bloomquist, has a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota. Sasha has worked in several different schools during her time at the U of M. She started at SCCC back in November of 2001 working as an aide and fell in love with the center, children, parents, and staff. She has since worked in several other positions here at SCCC as her class schedule at the U of M would allow. Having graduated in May of 2005 she jumped at the chance to join the staff full time in August 2005. She feels that SCCC is a very special and unique place for children to be and couldn’t imagine working anywhere else!
